Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers, so if you feel you would like to join us, give the station a call on 07367 096492 or come and see us. Our lighthouse is located in the grounds of Pontin`s Holiday Centre on the A12 at Pakefield.

It you are aged 18 years or more, male or female, then we would love to hear from you.

Our Watchkeeper volunteers receive ‘on the watch’ training in the basics of visual and radio watch-keeping, reporting, simple ship recognition and the understanding of navigational terms and charts. None of this is demanding, it just requires an appreciation of the sea and those who use it.

All training is given on watch by our team of qualified Watchkeepers.

If you do not think that watch keeping is for you but still wish to offer your time, we have an active group of “Friends” who help us with our fund raising.

If you would like to become a volunteer or require more information about Pakefield Coastwatch, call Geoff Mann, the Station Manager, on 07788 377501.
